Position Summary

As a Customer Service Representative, you will serve as an important point of contact for Taber Industries customers, supporting the order process and responding to questions regarding products, services, and order status. You'll work with computerized order systems, prepare customer documentation, maintain accurate records, and help ensure customers receive timely and accurate information throughout the order process.

Success in this role requires strong customer service skills, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Your work directly supports the customer experience and helps ensure orders move accurately and efficiently from initial inquiry through shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer orders using Taber's computerized order system.
• Perform denied-party screening as required for export compliance.
• Prepare order paperwork and required customer documentation.
• Provide shipment notices and shipping documents to customers.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, services, order status, and related information.
• Provide professional and timely customer support by phone and other communication methods.
• Maintain accurate customer records, including contact information.
• Assist with customer database management and record verification.
• Contact customers regarding past-due invoices as assigned.
• Provide clerical support, including switchboard coverage when needed.
• Forward sales leads to authorized Taber distributors and resellers.
• Maintain organized customer and order documentation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• These responsibilities are based directly on the current job description, including order processing, export screening and documentation, customer inquiries, record maintenance, past-due invoice follow-up, switchboard coverage, and distributor lead referrals.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of customer service principles.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong telephone skills and active listening abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work accurately with customer and order information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical aptitude.
• One or more years of experience working with international orders.
• Experience with export documentation.
• Familiarity with international shipping and export requirements.
• The existing job description specifically identifies manufacturing experience, technical aptitude, international orders, and export documentation as preferred experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to work at a computer for the majority of the workday.
• Occasional movement throughout the facility to retrieve or distribute paperwork as necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees across departments.
