HR Generalist (Temp-to-Hire) | Hybrid | Oakland, CA This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering a collaborative team environment, meaningful work, and long-term growth potential. Schedule & Location Hybrid schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite; Monday and Friday remote Oakland, CA, 1 min walk from 19th street BART station Work hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Compensation Competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 annually Flexibility for highly qualified candidates Annual merit increases based on performance Key Responsibilities Administer employee benefits programs and serve as a resource for employee questions Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work processes Facilitate onboarding, new hire orientation, and employee paperwork Maintain HRIS records and personnel files Process benefits invoices and support benefits administration activities Respond to employee inquiries through the HR ticketing system Support compliance initiatives, policies, and HR best practices Assist with open enrollment planning, employee education, and issue resolution Partner with brokers and benefit providers to address employee needs Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience Strong knowledge of: Benefits administration Workers' compensation Employee onboarding and orientation HR compliance and recordkeeping HRIS administration Experience with ADP Workforce Now Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to build relationships and effectively support employees at all levels Preferred: Nonprofit industry experience Experience supporting open enrollment and vendor management Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
