Civil / Paving Construction offers numerous opportunities and obstacles due to factors such as technology, equipment, and geology.We are in need of an experienced Estimator based in Nashville to take charge of our Paving Department.As our Senior Paving Estimator, you will be responsible for supervising, approving, and presenting competitive cost estimates for all paving projects. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to secure more projects and successfully carry them out, making it crucial to find the right individual to lead and expand our team.ResponsibilitiesReview drawings, specifications, and other documents to create detailed cost estimates.Manage bid processes for projects in both the public and private sectors.Determine labor, materials, and time requirements through examination of proposals and plans.Obtain and assess quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Develop bid packages and deliver final estimates to senior management.Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.Offer value engineering recommendations.Maintain historical cost data and create estimating tools and templates.Guide junior estimators and contribute to enhancing processes.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years experience as an estimator in the civil (Paving) sector.Demonstrated ability to estimate various civil projects (excavation, paving, grading, etc).Proficiency in relevant software is desirable, such as Excel, Bluebeam (+ HeavyBid, Bid-To-Win, AGTEK - preferred but not mandatory).Strong communication, client/business development, and negotiation skills.Urgency in submitting complete bids on time is absolutely necessary.We offer a competitive compensation package with benefits, including Annual Bonus, Auto/Phone allowance, 401(k) Retirement with Matching Contribution, and paid PTO, Vacation, and Holidays.
