Surgery - Thoracic Physician

• Schedule: Start Date: 9/28/2026; Ongoing through March 2027. Specific coverage dates include STEMI Call/Cath Lab shifts in September, October, November, and December 2026. Clinic: Tuesday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (approximately 8-10 patients per day). Call coverage: 24-hour in-house call. Coverage type includes scheduled clinical hours and call, with OR coverage during the week and weekends. Overnight call, patient call, OR help, and weekend help required.
• Job Setting: Inpatient and Outpatient
• Types of Cases: Pure CT surgery practice (no Vascular Surgery cases). Primary focus on surgery and OR call. STEMI Call/Cath Lab coverage. Clinic patients 8-10 per day. Approximately 15 patients per day on call shifts; 5 phone consults per night. Preferred surgical skills include: General CV/Thoracic Surgery (open and endoscopic), Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (on-pump and off-pump), Congenital Defects (ASD, VSD, PFO), Valvular Repair and Replacement, Aneurysm Repair (Cardiac and Aorto-Thoracic), Lung Resection including VATs, Chest Wall/Pleural Procedures, Esophagus and Diaphragm Surgeries, Permanent Pacemaker Placement, AICD, Left Ventricular Assist Devices, TAVR, CABG, Vent Management, Bronchoscopy, Central Line Insertion, Arterial Line Insertion, PA Catheter Insertion, IABP Insertion. Vein harvesting (first assist) is required. Experience with chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, and PICC line management preferred. Minimum 1-2 years of experience required.
• Call: In-house call; Call ratio 1:4; 20-minute response time required; 24-hour call shifts; call coverage for both weekdays and weekends
• EMR System: Epic
• Credentialing: Estimated 90 days; fellowship required

• Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
• Certifications: ACLS required; BLS required
• Licensure: Licensed in Missouri (MO) required; will consider IMLC
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience required; Fellowship required
