Responsibilities The RN position with the Texoma Heart Group is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include: Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), performing venipuncture, and other procedures directed by the physician. Recording documentation in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with the IPM guideline. Preparing treatment rooms for examinations and assisting in covering the front desk as required. Executing prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administering prescribed medications, and monitoring and documenting treatment progress and patient response. Delegating as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act and consulting with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent or resolve problems or concerns. Educating patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. About Independent Physician Management (IPM) IPM, a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. It develops and manages multi‑specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics aligned with UHS acute care facilities. IPM also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS and operates in 11 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. May be in contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Occasionally subject to irregular hours. May be required to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
