Extrusion Operator I

Work Shift: DAY Work Schedule: WHY MERIT? ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED Assists in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting extruders, blenders, cutters, pullers, water baths, and various extrusion equipment. Processes various documentation, such as work orders. Assists in the implementation of new products and equipment. Contributes to meeting department goals and operational metrics. Performs other related duties, as required. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Carrying and/or moving items that may weigh up to 50 pounds. Writing, sitting, standing, bending, visual acuity, color perception, depth perception, reading, and field of vision/peripheral. Fine motor skills, noise, chemical vapors, soldering fumes. SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education equivalent to a high school diploma and one year of related experience. Knowledge of the operation of extruders, braiders, pullers, cutters, dies, etc. Self‑motivated with good judgment to maintain high quality and quantity. Ability to recognize problems and make adjustments to the equipment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks well and follow instructions. Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations and follow procedures. COMPETENCIES Eye-hand coordination. Quality inspection. Computerized test equipment operation. COMMENTS – Infectious Control Risk Category III Risk Category III indicates employment and procedures that do not require exposure to blood or body fluids while performing their jobs.
