Anchor Engineering is seeking an experienced Structural Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer (P.E.) to support our expansion into the Phoenix market. This position is ideal for engineers looking to take on increased project ownership, technical leadership, and client-facing responsibilities while helping establish and grow our presence in Arizona.

Depending on experience and qualifications, candidates may be considered for either a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer role. Successful candidates will contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects while helping deliver high-quality structural solutions and build long-term client relationships.

What You'll Do

• Lead or support the structural design and delivery of projects from concept through construction.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Analyze structural systems and develop practical, code-compliant design solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Manage or support project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and project coordination activities.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and Anchor Engineering quality expectations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Design Engineers and Technicians.
• Participate in site observations, field investigations, and construction-phase services.
• Support development and coordination of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assist with proposals, client development efforts, and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Contribute to the continued growth of Anchor Engineering's presence in the Phoenix market.

Role Scope (Varies by Experience)

Project Engineer

• Performs structural analysis, design, and project coordination.
• Prepares calculations, plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Coordinates with clients, contractors, architects, and consultants.
• Assists with project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conducts site observations and field investigations.
• Mentors Design Engineers and Technicians.
• Supports successful project delivery under the guidance of senior staff.

Senior Project Engineer

• Independently leads structural design and technical execution.
• Takes ownership of project deliverables, schedules, and coordination.
• Reviews and oversees work prepared by junior staff.
• Stamps projects and technical reports as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary client and consultant contact.
• Leads project coordination and technical decision-making.
• Contributes to proposals, client development, and business growth.
• Mentors Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and Technicians.
• Plays a key role in supporting the growth of Anchor Engineering's Phoenix operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Arizona licensure or ability to obtain through comity.
• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience.
• 7+ years preferred for Senior Project Engineer consideration.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and light-gauge framing design.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Desire to contribute to the growth and success of Anchor Engineering's Phoenix presence.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $94,000 – $120,000 (based on experience, licensure, and role level)
