About the Job

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities seeks candidates conducting innovative research in quantum information science, broadly defined. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, quantum computation and simulation, quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, quantum sensing and metrology, quantum communication, and the theory of quantum devices. Candidates whose research includes AI or ML components are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish an internationally recognized and externally funded research program; teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels; mentor students and postdoctoral researchers; and contribute to the intellectual and service missions of the department and university. Opportunities are available for collaboration with researchers both within physics and in departments, such as chemistry and computer science.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $120,000 annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
