Observation Unit RN | Wausau, WI | 13-Week Travel Contract

Weekly Hours: 36 Hours Guaranteed
Shift: 12-Hour PM Shifts Day(11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
Night shift ( 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong EKG interpretation skills required
• Must successfully complete facility EKG exam during compliance

Preferred Experience

• Observation Unit experience
• Step-Down, Med-Surg, or Telemetry background
• Experience managing cardiac drips and high patient turnover

Unit Highlights

• 8-Bed Observation Unit
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Two RNs scheduled per shift
• High volume of admissions and discharges
• Average patient stay up to 48 hours

Common Patient Population

• CHF
• COPD
• Cellulitis
• Anemia
• Dehydration
• Pre-Op Patients
• Urology & GI Cases

Clinical Skills

Experience with drips including:

• Cardizem
• Nitroglycerin
• Heparin
• Insulin

Additional Information

• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Eligible for up to 36 hours of low-census unbillable time during the contract
• Scrub color: Any color
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
