Hyperbaric Technician (CMA, EMT preferred)

Hyperbaric Technician Reporting to the Program Director, the Hyperbaric Technician administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. The position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, and for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Prepares, educates, and orients patients about Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, including lifting or transferring patients per local policy, preparing them for treatment, and answering questions. Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed, monitoring equipment performance, patient responses, and making adjustments to ensure safety and effective use of equipment. Documents daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits, maintaining complete and accurate patient records including photo uploads. Operates and maintains hyperbaric chambers and other support oxygen systems as required. Participates in safety program activities, such as assisting with safety drills. May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) when certified as CMA or LPN, per Healogics policy. Performs other duties as required. Required Education, Experience and Credentials High School Diploma or GED. Current healthcare professional certification or license in the state of practice (maintained throughout employment). Applicable credentials include: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic, certified nationally. Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS). Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA). Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT). Certified Hyperbaric Wound Specialist (CHWS). Completion of Hyperbaric Training from US Department of Defense (DOD) programs. For Ohio: current Ohio license as RN, LPN/LVN, Respiratory Therapist, or CHT as approved by NBDHMT. Pre- or post-hire completion of Introductory Hyperbaric Training Course, as approved by NBDHMT, DOD, American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, or Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society. Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare preferred; prior wound or critical care experience preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification. Hyperbaric equipment and systems troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Basic math skills. Organization and time‑management skills. Problem‑solving skills. Customer service and follow‑up skills. Calmness and ability to relax patients. Working knowledge of wound‑management software preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word). Physical Demands Stationary position for extended periods of time (four hours or more). Frequent computer use for four hours or more. Movement: lifting or moving items up to 75 pounds with assistance, pushing or pulling, bending or stooping. Keying, looking, reaching, grasping, or touching with hands. Communicating within close, distance, and peripheral vision. Detecting sounds by ear. Work Environment Primarily indoors patient‑care environment. Exposure to hazards: blood‑borne pathogens, toxic chemicals, flammable explosive gases, mechanical equipment, moving objects, electrical current. Compensation Hourly rate ranges between $24.85 and $31.02 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, location, and operational needs. #J-18808-Ljbffr
