Vice President, Business Development

$160k - $200k

Nichols College

Overview Collective Global, established in 2023, is a venture capital firm and a first mover in venture GP stakes. With over $1 billion in assets under management, we invest across venture stages, sectors, and geographies and are growing rapidly. We are building an innovation investment ecosystem that connects investors, manager partners, and their portfolio companies to compound value across our network. We are seeking a Vice President, Business Development to scale Collective’s capital raising, build investor relationships, and represent the firm in the market. This is a highly external-facing role for someone who enjoys engaging with asset owners and our manager partners, creating opportunities, and helping grow a business. Responsibilities Originate and build investor relationships — Bring established relationships and deep knowledge of the global venture investor landscape, with emphasis on scaled institutions. Expand Collective’s network by opening doors independently and developing new relationships across family offices, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurance companies globally. Build, cultivate, and convert a pipeline of prospective investors, referral relationships, and strategic intermediaries. Work collaboratively with GP manager partners to enhance their networks and fundraising reach while building ours. Drive the business development process — Manage, with the Head of Investor Relations and broader team, the full capital-raising cycle from prospecting through commitment and closing. Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene, rigorous pipeline tracking, and a regular reporting cadence to senior leadership on progress, risks, and opportunities. Partner with IR, Legal, and Finance on fund documentation, data rooms, DDQ responses, and LP due diligence. Bring institutional best practices to fundraising operations. Contribute to investor-facing communications—pitch materials, one-pagers, meeting preparation, and follow-up content. Support the Growth of Collective’s Innovation Investment Network — Drive active engagement of investor and manager partners in Collective’s activities, events, and research; turn the network into a living community. Create tangible value for underlying managers by connecting them to capital, relationships, and opportunities across the network. Strengthen Collective’s brand and market positioning as the connective hub between large allocators and the innovation economy. Cultivate advisors, gatekeepers, consultants, and intermediaries to expand the platform’s reach. What We’re Looking For Specific requirements include: Bachelor’s degree required. Ability to help raise capital and win the trust of sophisticated institutional investors, with an established North American institutional LP network and the ability to open doors independently. Meaningful experience in investor relations, fundraising, business development, placement, or client solutions within a venture, growth equity, private equity, or GP stakes investor. Relevant training and academic qualifications. Ability to understand both sophisticated asset owners and complex investment strategies. Ability to drive structured processes across fundraising activities, and to coordinate materials, resources, and internal collaborations to support efforts. Proven storyteller—translate complex investment strategies and performance narratives into compelling, credible cases for sophisticated investors, and adapt narratives to LP needs while managing objections. Interest in solving complex investment needs and knowledge of the global venture investor landscape; curiosity about early-stage investing, founders, and emerging technology ecosystems. Proficiency with CRM platforms, marketing technologies, and digital communication channels. Strong personal ownership — self-directed, proactive, and accountable for outcomes, comfortable moving work forward without extensive structure. Enjoy engaging investors and building community—energized by convening people and cultivating a differentiated network around the firm. How You’ll Fit with the Team A collaborative instinct—we are a small team and rely on close collaboration; ability to work efficiently with colleagues is essential. Credibility and presence with sophisticated institutional investors, with a highly commercial mindset and sound judgment on how an investor development function should operate inside an institutional-quality organization. Pragmatism and adaptability—comfortable representing Collective in a CIO meeting or moving a process forward internally. An entrepreneurial mindset suited to a fast-growing, globally distributed platform where priorities evolve quickly. Compensation and Benefits The expected base salary range for this role is $160,000.00–$200,000.00 per year, plus potential benefits. Actual compensation will depend on experience and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law. Role Scope and Growth This role offers the opportunity to broaden experience across multiple areas of a growing firm. As Collective evolves, there may be opportunities to expand responsibilities based on business needs, individual performance, and the firm’s growth. This job description describes current expectations and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of promotion, title advancement, compensation changes, or continued employment for any specific period. Location This is a hybrid position based in our New York City office. Regular on-site presence is required, with flexibility regarding in-office days and schedules. Collective Global may adjust hybrid and in-office expectations over time. Equal Opportunity & Employment Terms Collective Global is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on any protected characteristic under applicable law. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities. If you require assistance during the application process, please let us know. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background checks, in accordance with law. This job description is informational and does not create an employment contract. Employment is at will, meaning either party may terminate the relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice, subject to applicable law. #J-18808-Ljbffr
