Labor and Employment Associate Attorney

Client is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to support a busy labor and employment litigation team. The role is focused on sophisticated defense-side litigation work, including direct interaction with clients and meaningful participation in case strategy and courtroom proceedings, with opportunities for long-term professional growth in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Qualified candidates will hold an active Florida Bar license in good standing and typically have 4–6 years of labor and employment litigation experience, with defense-side labor and employment experience strongly preferred. The position involves independently managing litigation matters from inception through resolution and handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings. The role requires strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy, along with excellent communication, client relationship management, and organizational skills to manage competing priorities. Key responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda; conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for and attending hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings. The attorney will communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses, collaborate with partners and attorneys across the labor and employment practice, and provide practical legal guidance and strategic counsel to employer clients, including experience advising employers on workplace issues and handling discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and other employment-related disputes.
