US Regional Key Account Lead, Oncology - Southwest (Texas Oncology) Astellas is a global life sciences company committed to turning innovative science into value for patients. Through our research and development programs, we pioneer new healthcare solutions for diseases with high unmet medical need. Purpose The Oncology Regional Key Account Lead (RKAL) drives the strategic direction and execution of Astellas' oncology & urology portfolio across key accounts. The role leads demand generation and market growth through account management, contract execution and pull‑through strategies. The RKAL is the primary contact for senior executives within target accounts, developing customer‑centric business plans that enhance access to Astellas' therapies and elevating the company's market position and patient outcomes. Essential Job Responsibilities Lead and execute contracts and pull‑through initiatives, monitoring performance to ensure consistent business growth aligned with strategic goals. Develop and implement account‑specific strategies that integrate market insights, customer needs, and Astellas' objectives to drive measurable results. Engage executive‑level stakeholders (C‑suite, Pharmacy Directors) to foster trust‑based relationships and shape critical business opportunities within the region. Collaborate with internal teams (market access, sales, marketing, contracting) to develop tailored plans that maximize market access and business success. Use deep market and customer insight to proactively identify and address business challenges with creative, actionable solutions. Monitor competitive landscape and evolving customer needs, providing timely feedback to leadership and refining strategies that position Astellas as a leader in oncology and ophthalmology care. Organizational Context Mid‑level individual contributor role. Key accounts include oncology and urology community practices and priority IHNs/Health Systems. Reports to Head, Regional Key Accounts. Qualifications Required 10+ years of pharmaceutical or equivalent business experience with a strong track record in account management or leadership (5+ years in a senior capacity). Proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive business outcomes and meet market demands. Strong negotiation, analytical, and business acumen for navigating complex customer environments and optimizing contracts. Exceptional relationship‑building skills based on trust and influence across clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders. Track record of success in contract implementation and sales growth, demonstrating accountability for achieving objectives. Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels. High‑level organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple complex projects across competing timelines. Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field. Ability to travel >50% of the time, maintain a valid driver's license, and attend weekend strategic customer events. Preferred Experience and relationships with Texas Oncology and affiliated accounts. Experience with GPOs, contract negotiations, and pull‑through in oncology & urology. Deep understanding of oncology & urology therapeutic areas. Experience leading cross‑functional matrix teams and driving organizational change. Location and Working Environment This field‑based role requires regular travel within Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, and Arizona. Astellas offers a hybrid working solution with flexibility to work from home and office as appropriate.
