Multi‑Axis CNC Programmer–Machinist (2–4 Axis)

Picture the start of your shift: you open the day’s jobs, load stock, and map out toolpaths that turn raw material into precise components. You keep production flowing by programming, setting up, running, and refining operations—then finishing each part to spec and documenting every step.

What you’ll do

• Program and run fabricating equipment to perform drilling, reaming, tapping, countersinking, punching, and related machining tasks within documented capabilities.
• Translate job specs into action —read prints, follow travelers, and execute requirements accurately.
• Dial in machines with minor, on-the-fly adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
• Inspect what you produce ; if needed, rework parts to correct defects and meet acceptance criteria.

Finishing for quality

• Deburr edges to meet inspection standards.
• Sand components to the specified finish.
• Wash parts per job requirements.

Programming and setup

• Program and set up standard operations for 2-, 3-, 4-, and multi‑axis machines.

Maintenance and reliability

• Perform routine upkeep: clean work areas and apply grease/oil to machines to keep them running smoothly.

Documentation and recordkeeping

• Capture job details accurately, including:
  • CAM file storage
  • Employee time cards
  • Machine time cards

Continuous improvement (CAR participation)

• Initiate and support Corrective Action Reports by:
  • Identifying errors and opportunities to improve processes
  • Participating in continuous improvement efforts
  • Approving CAR closures when criteria are met
  • Following established procedures for corrective actions and handling nonconforming product

Material prep and workplace organization

• Prepare stock material according to production needs.
• Champion 5S—keep your cell and shared areas (saws, non‑CNC machines) clean and organized.

Mentorship

• Act as a ‘Master’ trainer per the Training Matrix, supporting and mentoring teammates.
