Massport's Real Estate and Asset Management (REAM) team is responsible for developing and managing a diverse portfolio, which includes commercial and maritime assets on approximately 450 acres in East Boston, Charlestown, and South Boston. REAM oversees more than 10 million square feet of built assets, ranging from office buildings, hotels, and residential projects to seafood processing plants, shipyards, and marinas. These projects are often built in partnership with private development teams under long-term ground leases. The team is heavily involved in urban and infrastructure planning, architectural design review, place-making and activation programming, and sustainability and resiliency planning and policy as well as the business side of managing tenant leases and relationships. This work requires extensive coordination and collaboration with the city, state, and federal agencies and non-profit organizations. Three broad priorities drive REAM's work: generating a sustained revenue stream for Massport to invest in port terminals and support port operations, stimulating economic development and job growth, and creating inviting waterfront communities and spaces. One of our recent initiatives is exploring opportunities and partnerships for Massport to support the growth of "blue economy", or marine-related, innovative businesses in Boston Harbor.

As a General Maintenance/Utility (Bargaining Unit, Local Union No. 3), you are a reliable and adaptable team player with strong mechanical skills and the ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment safely and efficiently. You work well under pressure, respond quickly to changing conditions and emergencies, and take pride in keeping facilities clean, functional, and secure. Your attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety enable you to support smooth maritime operations and provide a safe environment for all.

What you will do:

• Operate and maintain light and heavy equipment to clean and maintain Maritime properties, including snow and debris removal.
• Perform landscaping tasks such as cutting grass, pruning shrubs, and maintaining outdoor areas to ensure a safe and clean environment.
• Conduct minor building repairs, plumbing maintenance, and inspections of pumps, drains, and sewer systems to keep facilities functional.
• Inspect and maintain parking meters and signage, collect revenue, and complete logs and reports as required.

What you offer:

• 1-3 years' experience driving heavy equipment.
• Current and valid CDL Class B.
• Current and valid Massachusetts Hoisting License 1C/2B.

Minimum Salary Range $1,622.00 Weekly

Maximum Salary Range $2,028 Weekly
