Registered Nurse RN - Radiation Oncology - Per Diem Day

Job Title PD RN (Per Diem RN) Location 300 Second Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740 – Monmouth Medical Center, Radiation Oncology Department. Pay $48.29 – $65.06 per hour (New Jersey). Responsibilities Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Ensure ethical practice and safety, implementing evidence‑based approaches and maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge. Report safety issues, hazardous environments, and medical errors promptly. Maintain knowledge of the patient population served by the radiation oncology department. Supervise, delegate, and collaborate with team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Set priorities, conduct interventions, and evaluate results to drive continuous improvement. Use the nursing process to develop individualized care plans and discharge plans in line with department standards. Document patient care and education accurately using required tools and systems. Provide patient and family education in accordance with the plan of care. Integrate psychosocial, physical, nutritional, and rehabilitative needs into care planning. Adhere to and implement hospital and department policies, procedures, and infection‑control guidelines. Perform assessments, reassessments, and evaluations of patient care using appropriate instruments. Communicate essential patient information timely and effectively to the care team. Comply with unit and departmental scheduling and regulations. Assist physicians with radiation oncology examinations and oversee related changes. Provide cross‑coverage in the oncology infusion center and breast center as directed. Educate patients on prevention of complications such as nutrition, elimination, mouth care, skin care, and immunosuppression. Support patient participation in clinical trials, including education, consent clarification, and protocol eligibility. Engage in continuous quality improvement and organizational performance assessment. Maintain autonomy in prioritizing work, making timely decisions, and taking accountability for outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary teams, cancer center development, and data collection for clinical trials. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BA/BS/BSN) preferred. Completion of clinical experience at an NLN‑accredited school preferred. Current New Jersey RN license required. National certification preferred. BLS certification required.
