ENT Audiology Externship 2027-2028

Externship Overview Denver Hearing Specialists – a private ENT practice located in Denver, Colorado – offers a paid externship for the 2027-2028 academic year. The externship provides exposure to a wide range of audiological services in a fast-paced ENT setting. Responsibilities Perform otoscopy and hearing screenings. Conduct behavioral testing on adults and pediatrics (VRA and play audiometry). Run otoacoustic emissions (OAE) checks. Perform comprehensive vestibular nystagmus evaluation (VNG) on adults. Assist in BPPV evaluation and treatment, supervised by AuD audiologists. Fit hearing aids and select devices using real-ear verification. Administer tinnitus assessments and participate in tinnitus training (TRT). Make ear impressions for hearing protection and hearing aids. Participate in in-office manufacturer trainings. Observe operating-room procedures for various ear surgeries. Help with walk-in hearing-aid repairs, supply purchases, and other clinical support. Handle administrative duties, including patient scheduling, answering phone/text messages, sending out repairs, and maintaining a supply inventory. Qualifications Mastery of basic hearing screenings. Some knowledge of hearing-aid manufacturers. Strong organizational and communication skills. Experience working with a diverse patient population (preferred). Three letters of recommendation, at least two from a supervising audiologist, a resume, unofficial transcripts of graduate courses, and a letter of intent.
