We base our nursing care on the simple philosophy of "Patient's First in Everything We Do" If you are looking for a department where you are treated as a valuable member of the team and not as a number then we are the facility for you.Position Summary:The Day Surgery Staff Nurse provides pre-operative and post-operative care for patients of all ages, undergoing a variety of ambulatory procedures including endoscopy, minor surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic outpatient procedures and treatments. Care is also provided to inpatients requiring major or endoscopic procedures and to patients entering the hospital as a same day admission. The staff nurse utilizes AORN Ambulatory Surgery Standards and Recommended Practices and ASPAN "Standards of Perianesthesia Nursing Practice" as references to ensure quality, safety and appropriateness of care for the patient.Behavioral Expectations:Team Player: MCH SDSU nursing prides itself on developing and maintaining a supportive collaborative and professional team environment.
