Senior Java Developer (SAP BTP/CAP)

We are hiring an experienced and dynamic Senior Java Developer (SAP BTP/CAP) to spearhead our engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of multiple high-impact services from the ground up within the SAP Business Network. You will be deeply involved in every phase of the product development and deployment lifecycle-from initial ideation, planning, and design, to prototyping, execution, delivery, and continuous iteration. As a hands-on Senior Developer, you are a pragmatic problem solver who values clean, effective, and scalable code above all. You will work in close collaboration with our Team Architect and Product Manager, translating complex product roadmap features into modular technical designs and leading your team to successfully deliver them. Req.#1079100632 Responsibilities Ensure on-time delivery of application features that fully adhere to functional specifications, SAP product standards, quality criteria, and project milestones Drive backend development using Java, REST/CXF, MVC frameworks (Spring Boot), the CAP programming model, and SQL Actively contribute to requirements reviews, design authoring and peer reviews, test scenario evaluations, and code reviews Implement automated unit tests to achieve maximum code coverage, and execute test plans through fully automated functional tests covering both positive and negative scenarios Troubleshoot and implement robust fixes for internal defects and customer issues within defined SLAs Requirements At least 7 years of practical, hands-on background in developing software solutions Solid command of backend technologies using Java, REST/CXF, Spring Boot and other MVC-based frameworks Hands-on experience with the SAP BTP/CAP environment, specifically utilizing Fiori-based development (SAPUI5, OData, and CAP CDS) Deep understanding of software design patterns, enterprise architecture, and data structures Extensive experience building web APIs and implementing API-first design principles (e.g., Swagger, REST APIs, or GraphQL) Familiarity with SAP HANA DB, alongside a strong understanding of at least one other relational database management system (RDBMS) and solid SQL skills Skilled in using development and DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef Familiarity with Confluence, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, JUnit, Karate, Postman, Qmate, qTest, and Selenium Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Strong knowledge and hands-on implementation experience with authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML); experience with third-party logins is a significant plus Strong command of English, both written and spoken, at a B2 proficiency level or above We offer Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance (Subsidized) Health Savings Account Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care, Commuter) Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (Company Provided) Life and AD&D Insurance (Company Provided) Employee Assistance Program Unlimited access to LinkedIn learning solutions Matched 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan Paid Time Off - the employee will be eligible to accrue 15-25 paid days, depending on specific level and tenure with EPAM (accrual eligibility may change over time) Paid Holidays - nine (9) total per year Legal Plan and Identity Theft Protection Accident Insurance Employee Discounts Pet Insurance Employee Stock Purchase Program If otherwise eligible, participation in the discretionary annual bonus program If otherwise eligible and hired into a qualifying level, participation in the discretionary Long-Term Incentive (LTI) Program This Remote Position Cannot be Performed in New York City.
