Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Hematology / Oncology for a travel nursing job in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in an oncology unit within a hospital setting. The role requires coordinating patient treatment plans, performing assessments, and delivering education to patients and families while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care. Job Details Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Nursing Diploma or ASN/ADN from an accredited school of Nursing; licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC; at least 2 years of outpatient chemotherapy/immunotherapy infusion experience; Epic experience required; experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions, blood product administration, IV iron/fluids/electrolytes, port lab draws/injections, and patient/family education and emotional support. Preferred Qualifications: BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing. Additional Information: Participates in patient assessment, care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex oncologic needs, including population-specific physical, psychosocial, and safety considerations. Uses healthcare standards, policies, and procedures, and contributes to quality improvement activities. Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment and recognizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care.
