Location 758 Westbrook Street,South Portland, ME, 04106,United States Base Pay $30.00 - $45.00 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Description The Journeyperson or Master Electrician is a member of the construction team responsible for delivering high-quality installation of renewable energy electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings. Systems include, but are not limited to, solar, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and HVAC. In addition to general installation crew responsibilities, the Journeyperson or Master Electrician oversees the electrical scope of work for installations, including wiring, grounding, bonding, system interconnection, permitting support, inspections, and utility witness testing, as required. The role works collaboratively with the engineering and design teams, as well as other licensed electricians, to ensure all installations comply with the National Electrical Code, manufacturer specifications, and company installation standards. Roles and Responsibilities Assist the Crew Lead with quality solar PV installations including the installation of racking, modules, inverter, combiner boxes, grounding etc. Lead or assist in the installation of battery energy storage systems Assist the Crew lead with the installation of power systems for HVAC installations including branch circuits, disconnects, load centers Perform system commissioning and function checks Review system and interconnection design for adherence to National Electrical Code and industry best practice Attend electrical inspections as needed on behalf of the company Mentor and supervise fellow electricians as necessary Supervise and assist in the training of Apprentice electricians Help to ensure all necessary materials and tools arrive to the job site Assist with overall crew & job site safety Assist with staging and packing materials and tools and load vans Assist with general site preparation and clean up Participate in regular safety trainings Assist with completion of installation reports and commissioning reports Help to maintain tools and trucks in excellent condition. Remain up to date with code requirements, manufacturers' specifications, and company installation standards through continuing education and professional development resources. Complies with DOT laws and requirements when operating a regulated vehicle. Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements Journeyman or Master Electrician license and at least 1 years of related experience Comprehensive understanding of the NEC as it relates to the installation of solar electric systems in a variety of applications and interconnection scenarios. Competence in design of PV systems including electrical wire sizing, conduit sizing, installation methods, conduit bending, etc. Familiarity with available equipment Basic competence with Computer including Excel, Word, e mail and web based applications Good at problem solving and working with tools Excellent teamwork skills – ability to foster a positive team environment Highly organized & have ability to multi-task and set priorities Effectively coordinate and communicate with others Ability to succeed in a fast paced, community environment Safety – must be comfortable enforcing safety rules with everyone; including supervisors, customers, and co-workers Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policy Efficiency – able to produce significant output with minimal waste Teamwork – reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish collaborative working relationships High Standards – expects personal performance to be nothing short of the best Code of Conduct – you will be a guest at our customer’s home and are expected to act accordingly, you will sign and live up to our Code of Conduct Flexibility – adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Brings new ideas to the process and procedures Required Licenses or Additional Qualifications State issued Journeyperson or Master Electricians License OSHA 10 hour preferred Must have previous experience working in construction and carpentry, preferably roof work NABCEP certification Other PV manufacturer certification/training Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record Comfortably able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, work with tools, work in crawl spaces, and work on high roof tops in varying hot and cold temperature Summary Beginning April 2026, as part of our hiring process, we will conduct job‑related background checks after a conditional offer is made.
