This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a Level I trauma center. The position requires managing patients with various diagnoses, including tracheostomy and laryngectomy cases, with responsibilities encompassing PICC line management, starting IVs, and other bedside procedures. Job Details Position / Specialty: Medical Surgical RN for an acute care hospital setting. Schedule: 3x12 days shifts (0645-1915), minimum of 36 hours per week. Requirements: Active Illinois registered nurse license, minimum 2 years of clinical experience, BLS certification, and experience with PICC line management and starting IVs. Responsibilities: Management of PICC lines, starting IVs, dressing changes, drain removals, sutures and staples removal, nasogastric tube insertion, central line dressing, intravenous insertions, suctioning of tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients, ostomy care, urinary catheter procedures, continuous bladder irrigation, blood transfusions, and use of specialized equipment such as infusion pumps, wound vacs, and patient-controlled analgesics. Certifications: BLS required; additional certifications in blood product administration, wound care, and other skills are preferred. Additional Information: Competency in Cerner charting system preferred; willingness to learn and handle up to a 1:7 patient ratio if needed; open to float within scope to meet facility needs; and compliance with all onboarding and documentation requirements prior to start.
