Job Title: Research Development Work-Study Student Associate, Office of the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors Location: Austin, TX Hourly Rate: $15.00 Weekly Hours: 19 Start Date: Immediately Contract Duration: Until December 31, 2026 Responsibilities Support general front‑desk and office operations tasks, offering an elevated level of customer service and hospitality to visitors and staff. Assist with on‑campus event planning, logistics, and meeting coordination including material preparation and room set‑up/reset. Handle office mail distribution, delivery, and shipping requests as appropriate. Assist with inventory and office supplies maintenance. Assist with preparing content for newsletters. Ensure the RD suite is organized; perform light cleaning duties. Collect, manage, and analyze data using Excel. Maintain a strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic. Communicate changes to the work schedule in advance and make sound decisions. Build relationships with RD staff and perform other tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to express thoughts clearly and ask questions. Experience using computers and office equipment in a general office customer‑service setting. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and UT applications. Organization and problem‑solving skills with exceptional multitasking; ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Current undergraduate at UT Austin enrolled/registered for the current semester and in good academic standing. Financial‑aid work‑study recipient. Strong, independent, and collaborative work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word. Previous customer‑service experience or administrative support. Work Schedule Must be available to work 15–19 hours per week. Flexible work hours between Monday through Friday 8a.m.–5p.m., based on students’ class schedules. Working Conditions Standard office conditions, repetitive use of a keyboard, use of manual dexterity, climbing stairs, lifting and moving (up to 25lbs.).
