This is a chance to set the metrology strategy for a multi-billion dollar global manufacturer rather than maintain someone else's. You will lead the development and deployment of advanced metrology and gauging technologies across worldwide manufacturing operations, with direct influence over CMM programming, optical measurement systems, on-machine probing, and automated inspection platforms.

You will own capital equipment projects from specification through commissioning, set the calibration and measurement standards other engineers follow, and standardize metrology practices across global facilities. This is technical leadership with real visibility into engineering and manufacturing organizations worldwide.

You will work across the full scope of dimensional and surface metrology: CMM operation, programming, and calibration; optical measurement and vision systems; laser scanning; and on-machine gauging. You are the subject matter expert other teams come to for measurement uncertainty analysis, GD&T questions, and calibration methodology.

Capital equipment ownership means you drive vendor selection, installation, and long-term performance optimization, not just execution of someone else's plan. You will manage project budgets, appropriation requests, and schedules directly.

Compensation includes a 10% bonus, a 6%+ 401K match, full benefits, and relocation assistance to the Canton, OH area.

• Lead metrology and gauging deployments across global manufacturing facilities
• Perform calibration, verification, and performance evaluation of metrology equipment
• Analyze measurement system performance using statistical methods, including gauge R&R, MSA, and process capability studies
• Lead capital equipment projects: specification, vendor selection, installation, commissioning, and startup
• Conduct benchmarking studies to support process improvement and cost reduction decisions
• Troubleshoot and lead root cause analysis for plants worldwide
• Train engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel on metrology systems
• Travel domestically and internationally, typically less than the stated 25% maximum

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field (Master's preferred)
• 7+ years in metrology, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or advanced inspection technologies
• Advanced hands-on experience with CMM operation, programming, calibration, and maintenance
• Strong command of GD&T, engineering drawings, and measurement uncertainty analysis
• Experience with optical measurement, vision systems, laser scanning, and on-machine gauging
• Statistical analysis skills using tools such as JMP, including MSA and gauge R&R
• Track record leading capital equipment projects and cross-functional technical initiatives
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%
