Senior Front Office Assistant

The Senior Front Office Assistant performs routine computerized scheduling and administrative functions in an ambulatory/physician office. Responsibilities include adhering to Orlando Health and department specific policy, procedures, value statements, and Commitment to Excellence standards. The role involves handling multiple simultaneous tasks, answering telephones, taking messages, filing lab reports, medical records, and other information according to practice policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires word processing and spreadsheet data, charge entry, and cash handling. The Senior Front Office Assistant acts as a liaison between the physician, patient, and insurance companies, including obtaining referrals and/or authorizations. The role also demands maintaining reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Other related functions include participating in Quality Assurance and Quality Indicator activities as assigned, demonstrating awareness of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies, practicing the efficient use of supplies, maintaining a clean, safe, and organized office, and acting as a liaison to assist office billing service as requested.
