About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to play a pivotal role in the modernization and scaling of its operational infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a strategic and operational leader, responsible for driving the value creation plan, optimizing product delivery pipelines, and overseeing infrastructure and systems modernization. This includes evaluating and upgrading internal systems, enterprise software, and cross-departmental workflows to support a multi-X growth trajectory. The COO will also be tasked with establishing operational rigor, engaging with the Board of Directors, and ensuring that the business maintains a culture of educational excellence and high performance. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a minimum of 10-15 years' of executive leadership experience, with a proven track record in a similar role within the K-12 EdTech or instructional publishing environment. Experience in a private equity-backed portfolio company is highly preferred, as is a deep understanding of the US K-12 purchasing ecosystem and its operational nuances. The ideal candidate will be a strategic executioner, capable of high-level thinking and granular operational discipline, and will possess exceptional analytical capabilities, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, fluid environment. Academic credibility and technical sophistication are also key attributes, as the role requires the ability to balance pedagogical impact with technical scalability and to command respect from both educational content creators and software engineering teams.
