The Medical Receptionist Medical Assistant supports pediatric and orthopedic patients through front-desk coordination and clinical responsibilities that vary by clinic needs. Reporting to the Clinic Administrator, this role manages patient access and records while assisting with rooming, phone triage, limited clinical procedures, casting and cast removal as clinic needs require, exam room disinfection, radiology authorizations, and inventory management. The position offers opportunities for expanded clinical responsibilities and requires a responsible, multitasking team player with strong patient communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Check in and register patients.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Maintain medical records and document patient information in the EHR.
- Verify insurance and obtain radiology authorizations.
- Perform phone triage and communicate effectively with patients.
- Room patients and assist with limited clinical procedures, including casting and cast removal.
- Disinfect exam rooms and manage exam room inventory.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
- Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, patient scheduling, HIPAA compliance, clinical rooming, and radiology authorization.
- Experience with EHR documentation and casting techniques.
- Strong patient communication skills and attention to detail.
- Responsible, collaborative, and able to multitask effectively.
