We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full Time, Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 at Teaneck Gastroenterology Associates  in Teaneck, NJ.  

 

About the Role:

The Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 plays a critical dual role in healthcare settings by providing both clinical support and front-desk administrative services. This position ensures smooth patient flow by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-ins, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role requires effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate seamless care delivery. Additionally, the Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 supports clinical staff by preparing patients for examinations, performing basic clinical tasks, and assisting with medical procedures as needed. Ultimately, this position contributes to a positive patient experience and efficient healthcare operations through a combination of interpersonal, administrative, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Greet and register patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately.
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical staff.
• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring examination rooms are ready.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and documenting clinical information.
• Maintain and update patient medical records in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
• Process patient billing information and assist with insurance claims and authorizations.
• Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external agencies to facilitate continuity of care.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception and clinical areas.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Medical Assistant 3 Receptionist 3 to efficiently manage patient interactions and clinical support tasks daily. Proficiency in EHR systems and office software ensures accurate scheduling, record-keeping, and communication with healthcare teams. Strong interpersonal and communication skills facilitate compassionate patient engagement and effective coordination with medical staff. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures supports the assistant in preparing patients and assisting providers during examinations. Preferred skills such as bilingualism and familiarity with insurance processes enhance the ability to serve diverse populations and navigate administrative complexities, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting combining clinical and receptionist duties.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
• Familiarity with insurance billing processes and healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
• Certification in CPR and basic first aid.
