Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant- Outpatient Primary Care

Overview In addition to your base compensation, this role offers the opportunity to earn an annual quality-based bonus. Company Allegheny Health Network Responsibilities Provides appropriate patient care including recording patient medical history and physical assessment, developing therapeutic care plans, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, and ensuring accurate medical record documentation. 25% Communicates and coordinates patient care with the patient, family, community health services, and interdisciplinary team. Involves attending physician regarding the plan of care and physician involvement in clinical decisions outside the CRNP’s knowledge base or scope of practice. 15% Provides monitoring and continuity of care and coordinates periodic evaluation by physicians as defined in the agreement between the CRNP and supervising physicians. 10% Prepares written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances, administers medications and injections, sutures wounds, and provides wound care. 10% Educates patients and family members regarding health, preventive medicine, medications prescribed, treatment instructions, and community resources as appropriate. 10% Triages patient telephone calls and ensures monitoring and continuity of care. 10% Participates in, develops, and implements performance and/or quality improvement initiatives; ensures compliance with regulatory agencies. 10% May perform other duties such as managing outpatient concerns and other duties specific to the specialty. 10% Other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications Required Master's degree MSN from an approved program by the practicing State Board of Nursing National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners Practicing-state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Authority from the practicing state (within 60 days of hire) Drug Enforcement Administration Licensure (within 60 days of hire) CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred None Required Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies Current PA Physician Assistant License PA-C or board eligible with ongoing recertification (NCCPA) as a PA-C within 90 days of hire Drug Enforcement Administration Licensure within 60 days of hire CPR – American Heart Association Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Substitutions Four to ten years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
