Travel MRI Technologist - Magnetic Resonance Imaging

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with ARRT(MR) certification and at least 2 years of experience to provide diagnostic imaging services in an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Acute care hospital setting including adult and pediatric acute care, adult ICU, ER/trauma, and outpatient areas,
• Performs MRI procedures on abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal regions,
• Conducts special imaging procedures including MRA, MRV, MRCP, diffusion imaging, and multiplanar reconstruction,
• Uses GE MRI equipment and PACS system,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• 5x8 hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with variable start times of 7:00 AM or 12:00 PM,
• Responsible for patients across all age groups including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients,

Job Requirements

• Current BLS and ARRT(MR) certification required; ARMRIT and IV certification required,
• ARRT(R) certification preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• Graduate of a Joint Commission-approved School of Radiologic Technology or an accredited MRI program,
• Prior acute care hospital experience preferred,
• Proficiency with IV starts, contrast media preparation and administration, and isolation precautions/PPE,
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI safety principles,
• Must be able to safely move and position patients using proper body mechanics,
• Previous travel experience required,
• CA state license required if applicable,

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under order of a licensed independent practitioner for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic intervention,
• Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risk to patients, self, and others,
• Correlate clinical indications with approved protocols to apply appropriate pulse sequences and technical factors,
• Educate patients and address questions or concerns prior to exams,
• Demonstrate proficiency with computerized systems and PACS for image transmission, archiving, and retrieval,
• Accepts local candidates at the local rate within a 50-mile radius,
• Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning,
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract,
• Must complete onboarding labs within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
