Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Study Assistant for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This role involves coordinating patient recruitment, enrollment, randomization, and de‑identification; administering questionnaires and conducting testing; performing ELISA biomarker assays and processing serum and PBMC samples; managing and analyzing data; and carrying out venipuncture procedures. Patient recruitment, enrollment, randomization, and deidentification. Administer questionnaires and testing. Run ELISA biomarker assays, process serum/PBMCs. Data handling and analysis. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate's Degree in a relevant science or related field (e.g., Public Health, Clinical Research, Biomedical Sciences) plus two (2) years of research experience. Prior experience performing ELISA and PBMC processing. Experience calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and conducting ELISA data analysis, including generating standard curves, calculating unknown concentrations from absorbance values, and performing curve fitting using Excel. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in handling serum, plasma, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Skilled in centrifuging, aliquoting, cryopreservation, precision pipetting, and accurate plate layout design. Proficient in running and troubleshooting 96‑well plate assays, using plate washers and readers, and preparing standards, buffers, and reagents according to kit instructions. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field. Physical Demands and Work Environment Reading, standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. Lifting up to 25 lbs. BSL2+ laboratory environment; exposure to study subjects in a clinical environment and research animal models. Office environment with moderate noise.
