Sr. Project Manager - Data Transformation

This role requires candidates who are currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and C2C arrangements are not accepted. This role is fully onsite near Tustin, CA.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data transformation initiatives. This role will focus on driving end-to-end project execution, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, maintaining clear accountability, and ensuring successful delivery of data-focused programs within scope, timeline, and budget.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly persistent project leader who is comfortable driving urgency, following up consistently, and holding stakeholders accountable for deliverables, decisions, risks, and project status. This person must be able to clearly determine whether projects are on track, at risk, or off track, and ensure that stakeholders take ownership of resolving issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex data transformation projects from initiation through delivery.
• Define project scope, goals, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including data engineering, analytics, IT, business units, vendors, and executive sponsors.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, RAID logs, timelines, dependency trackers, and executive updates.
• Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, delays, and ownership gaps before they impact delivery.
• Drive accountability across stakeholders by consistently following up on action items, decisions, blockers, and missed deadlines.
• Maintain clear visibility into project health, including whether projects are green, yellow, or red, and ensure status is accurate and actionable.
• Push stakeholders to own their commitments, provide timely updates, and resolve issues impacting scope, timeline, budget, or delivery.
• Lead data migration, data integration, data warehousing, ETL, and broader system transformation initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with business objectives, technical requirements, and data governance standards.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication, executive reviews, working sessions, and project governance meetings.
• Oversee vendor coordination, third-party integrations, and external delivery partners when applicable.
• Escalate issues appropriately while continuing to drive resolution and ownership at the project level.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience, with a focus on data transformation, data migration, or data-driven initiatives.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, enterprise-level projects with multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong understanding of data migration, data warehousing, ETL processes, system integration, and/or cloud data platforms.
• Experience working closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership.
• Ability to manage project health reporting, including green/yellow/red status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
• Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, follow up persistently, and ensure stakeholders own deliverables and decisions.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, or similar platforms.
• Strong communication, leadership, documentation, escalation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, competing deadlines, and complex dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
• PMP, PgMP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certification.
• Experience supporting enterprise data transformation, ERP modernization, system modernization, or analytics platform initiatives.
• Experience managing vendors, third-party implementation partners, or offshore delivery teams.
