Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

We are hiring a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for one of our clients in Harlingen, TX .


Job Description:

• The Speech Language Pathologist, serves as the SSLCs recognized subject matter expert on matters related to speech, language and swallowing disorders and is responsible for therapeutic rehabilitation services in speech language pathology for a wide range of individuals with speech/communication deficits, swallowing and dysphagia challenges, social and pragmatic delays, and cognitive difficulties residing at the Rio Grande State Supported Living Center.
• The SLP is required to assess, diagnoses, and analyzes the resident's skills and abilities in the areas of speech, language, and cognitive-communication, and related oral, pharyngeal and esophageal function to identify, and perform quality documentation in the electronic health record, all applicable impairments through diagnostic evaluation & assessment. As such, this position will develop, implement, and oversee therapeutic habilitative and rehabilitative programs, and provide clinical services for the SSLC residents.
• The SLP will collaborate with other departments, allied health professionals, interdisciplinary team members, and administration to maximize therapeutic efficacy by attending assigned meetings to ensure the transfer of needed information and continuity of services.
• Further, the selected SLP will train, instruct and/or supervise the work of others in conducting habilitation and rehabilitation activities specific to recommendations and treatment and additionally monitor implemented programs/plans for compliance and efficacy to ensure quality of care and patient well-being and provide feedback to staff.
• The SLP will update and revise or develop new programs and treatment protocols based on outcomes.
• This position will oversee and coordinate quality assurance and quality enhancement activities as related to provision of therapeutic services at the SSLC.
• In addition, this position maybe required to participate and/or serve in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
• Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Licensure, certification, or registration required:

• Must be licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the State of Texas.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.

Work hours:

• M-F, Full Time, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Monthly, with option to renew
