Experienced CNC Machinist to join our aerospace and defense manufacturing team. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs to produce precision-machined components that meet customer and quality requirements. CNC programming is not required for this position.

Job Duties

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and/or Swiss machines using existing CNC programs.
• Perform machine changeovers, tooling installation, and fixture setup.
• Load, verify, and execute approved CNC programs.
• Adjust tool offsets and machine parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Apply GD&T requirements during machining and inspection.
• Replace cutting tools and monitor tool wear.
• Troubleshoot machining issues with Engineering and Quality.
• Complete production and inspection documentation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow all safety, AS9100, and quality procedures.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, machining certificate, or CNC programming education preferred.

Experience Requirements

Experience operating, setting up, or programming CNC machine tools. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges. Understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties. Strong attention to detail, mathematical ability, and commitment to quality workmanship. Proficient with micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, and thread gauges.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with CNC mills, lathes, machining centers, or multi-axis equipment is preferred. Experience editing CNC programs, setting tooling offsets, and performing machine setups is beneficial. Familiarity with G-code, CAD/CAM software, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or similar CNC controls is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities, continuous learning, and commitment to precision manufacturing are well positioned for success as a CNC Machinist. Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience. Experience in an AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 environment. Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and similar alloys. Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Mitsubishi, or similar CNC controls.

Physical Capabilities

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around machining equipment throughout the shift. Ability to lift materials, tooling, and components weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity to safely operate CNC machinery and precision measuring equipment. Ability to work safely around moving machinery while following established safety procedures.
