Sr. Metrology Engineer

Senior Metrology Engineer role at a new biologics manufacturing facility in Wilmington, Delaware. Responsible for establishing and leading calibration, instrumentation, and metrology programs from inception through commercial operation, partnering across manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide metrology engineering leadership across design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and commercial operation phases
- Develop and implement site-wide calibration and metrology program aligned with company standards and industry best practices
- Serve as engineering owner for instrumentation and calibration systems across manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and facility infrastructure
- Generate instrument datasheets, specifications, and technical standards; manage full lifecycle of instrumentation assets
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities; lead troubleshooting of instrumentation failures and process deviations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- 8+ years metrology, calibration, or instrumentation engineering in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing
- Strong expertise in process instrumentation, calibration programs, and GMP utility systems
- Experience supporting greenfield projects, commissioning, and startup activities
- Experience developing calibration programs and vendor management strategies
- Excellent leadership, communication, and technical mentoring abilities
