Engineering Technician

Responsibilities Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical technical functions: design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools, test fixtures. Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and subsystems. Perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades. Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform routine testing and troubleshooting. Compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation utilizing good writing skills. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum process testing on AMAT platforms for Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and specifications. Observe all safety standards; maintain a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment. Attend required health and safety training, follow safety and security policies, procedures and practices; promptly report accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies. Follow operating instructions, use protective equipment as required, and use equipment and materials properly; actively strive to prevent accidents and injuries. Stay familiar with current manufacturing and/or engineering processes, stay informed of any change in procedures; assist in the correction of problems; perform rework as a result of testing; generate quality notifications. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position that often requires standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, driving or operating heavy machinery including forklifts, and using hand and power tools. The role may involve working in a clean room; appropriate personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields may be required. Salary offered based on location, grade, experience, and internal equity. Bonus and stock award program possible. Benefits Salary range: $24.50 - $34.10 per hour. Location: Santa Clara, CA.
