Interpreter

The United States District Court for the District of Arizona is currently seeking a full‑time, permanent court interpreter position located in the Tucson Clerk's Office. Representative Duties Providing Spanish‑English interpretation services in all types of matters before the court. Translating documents and correspondence to and from the court. Assisting with the processing of vouchers for contract interpreters. Providing remote interpretation services via the Telephone Interpreting Program (TIP). Interpreting outside of court for ancillary matters related to the court as directed. Other duties as assigned. Travel within the state of Arizona will be required. Minimum Qualifications Possession of a Court Interpreter Certification issued by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts as a Spanish court interpreter (with proof). Proficiency in simultaneous, consecutive, and sight translation modes. Ability to translate complex documents and correspondence written in a wide variety of registers while maintaining the same register as the speaker. Requires two years of specialized experience for JSP 12 or JSP 13; three years for JSP 14. Preferred: actual court experience.
