United Commercial Services (UCS) is looking for an experienced Floor Care Technician to join our team. If you have a solid foundation in commercial floor care and want the opportunity to expand your skills, learn specialized techniques, and increase your earning potential as your abilities grow, we'd like to talk with you.

This is more than a routine cleaning position. Our Floor Care Technicians work with a variety of flooring surfaces, equipment, and restoration processes throughout West Michigan. We're looking for someone who takes pride in seeing the difference that professional floor care can make.

What You'll Do

You should have basic hands-on experience with:

• Commercial carpet cleaning, including extraction and low-moisture methods
• VCT stripping and waxing/finishing
• Floor buffing and burnishing
• Proper use of commercial floor machines and equipment
• Identifying and using appropriate floor-care chemicals and processes

If you have a good foundation in floor care, we'll help you build on it. UCS will provide additional training in specialized services, including:

• Terrazzo floor care and restoration
• Natural stone floor care
• Advanced hard-floor maintenance and restoration techniques
• Specialized equipment and processes

Schedule

This is primarily a Monday–Friday, 2nd shift position , with typical hours of:

5:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Our goal is to keep this position on a Monday–Friday schedule. An occasional Saturday project may be necessary, but Saturday work is not expected to be a regular part of the schedule.

Because floor projects are performed at customer facilities when spaces are available, some flexibility in scheduling may occasionally be needed.

What We're Looking For

• Previous commercial floor-care experience
• Basic knowledge of carpet and hard-floor care processes
• Dependable and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Willingness to learn new techniques and equipment
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of commercial floor-care work
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening
• Must meet company driver's license and driving requirements
