JOB DESCRIPTION: \n
\n
\nSAIC seeks an energetic and talented Senior Systems Engineer to join an exciting program and Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) team in Springfield, VA. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented, bias towards action self-starter with a willingness to learn and the ability to be an immediate contributor in a fast-paced, adaptive, and innovative team environment. They will possess strong interpersonal and excellent communications (listening, verbal, and written) skills with the ability to forge and nurture close working relationships with project officers and executive-level leaders, and SETA throughout the customer organization, DOD, IC, and industry. \n

JOB DUTIES: \n
\n
\nJob responsibilities include providing tailored project management, acquisition, specialized systems engineering and technical analysis support for a portfolio of advanced capabilities in the maritime domain.\n
\n
\nPrimary tasks include, but are not limited to:\n
\n

\n
• Provide high-level systems engineering and programmatic expertise to support systems/projects from concept through the concept development and acquisition phases of the system life-cycle.
\n
• Provide high-level systems engineering and programmatic expertise to support major systems that have entered into operations and maintenance phases of the system life-cycle.
\n
• Coordinate technical discussion with activities to identify system improvements to include research and development investments.
\n
• Participate in system working groups and program/project technical status meetings/reviews, developing inputs, documenting procedures, and tracking minutes and action items.
\n
• Support project management effort to include monitoring project cost, schedule, and technical performance, and risk throughout the system life-cycle.
\n
• Support Program management with critical thinking to assist with the formulation of acquisition strategies, development of acquisition plans, preparing/reviewing Statements of work, Performance Work Statements, justification and approval (J&A) documentation, etc.
\n
• Support technical project and systems engineering management including Concept of Operations (CONOPs) generation, requirements development, performance work statements development, and integrated milestone/schedule development.
\n
• Support contract management efforts to include development of contract documents to enable awards to industry partners.
\n
• Support the program cost group as necessary in their conduct of formal cost estimates and assessments.
\n
• Provide subject matter expertise support to discussions, briefings, and documents reviews provided to program oversight groups.
\n
• Support the development and maintenance of project baseline configuration of capability needs and requirements.
\n
• Travel (5-15%) outside assigned work area.
\n

Qualifications \n
\n
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: \n
\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years or more experience providing technical project management and systems engineering in support of DoW and/or IC acquisition programs. Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
\n
• Candidate must be a US Citizen.
\n
• An active TS/SCI with the ability to complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CI Poly; post-hire).
\n

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: \n
\n

\n
• An active TOP SECRET clearance with access to SCI and CI Polygraph.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as engineering, physical sciences, mathematics or operations research is desired.
\n
• Prior experience as a Navy Nuclear Officer or similar technical/engineering field.
\n
• Current/recent Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) or equivalent acquisition qualifications.
\n
• Familiarity with team and administrative collaboration and analysis tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Access, and Project.
\n
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) (SysML, UAF) including generating, analyzing and maintaining a digital model, and familiarity using MBSE software such as CAMEO Enterprise Architecture.
\n
• PMP or other professional certifications.
\n

\n Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.\n
