Senior Director, Clinical Data Intelligence & Medical Monitoring Innovation

Merck seeks a Senior Director to lead clinical data intelligence and medical monitoring innovation across Clinical Development. This strategic role bridges advanced technologies and clinical practice, driving organizational modernization through visual analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and scientific rigor.
Responsibilities
- Lead digital, analytics, and AI initiatives supporting clinical data review and medical monitoring across therapeutic areas
- Identify and prioritize opportunities where visual analytics and automation improve safety oversight, quality, and decision-making
- Partner with clinical leadership and study teams to define use cases and implement modern data review capabilities
- Represent Clinical Development in cross-functional forums to ensure technical solutions align with clinical workflows
- Support change management, training, and adoption strategies for new capabilities and tools
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years hands-on clinical trial design and clinical data review experience
- Deep expertise in data visualization, technological innovation, and AI applications
- Strong background in medical monitoring and clinical trial execution
- Experience translating clinical workflows into technical requirements
- Proven ability to drive organizational change and adoption of new tools
- Knowledge of regulated clinical development environments and validation requirements
