Podiatrist (Chief, Spinal Cord Injury Service) - Recruitment incentive/EDRP approved

The VA North Texas Health Care System is currently seeking a Podiatrist (Chief, Spinal Cord Injury Service). The Chief will provide leadership and collaboration with the overall operations of the Service both clinically and administratively. Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be authorized for highly qualified individuals. Education Debt Reduction Program is authorized. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from a school approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs and authorized by the Council on Podiatry Education. Completed or currently completing approved residency training or equivalent, leading to eligibility for board certification. VA Podiatrists involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status. Full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia. Preferred Experience Proof of current basic life support Board certified in Spinal Cord Injury Previous assignment, including temporary, as Chief of Clinical Service in any VA and/or Medical Facility Past or present faculty appointment in an approved medical school Experience in coordination of medical residency program or supervision of residents in a clinical or research setting Publication of articles in nationally recognized professional journals Grade Determinations Outstanding professional ability in the practice of medicine or a medical specialty Ability to guide the development and implementation of programs, including but not limited to medical practice, professional standards, personnel issues, and quality and performance improvement Physical Requirements Moderate lifting, 15–44 pounds Moderate carrying, 15–44 pounds Straight pulling (1–2 hours) Pushing (1–2 hours) Reaching above shoulder Both hands required Walking (8 hours) Standing (8 hours) Kneeling (1 hour) Repetitive bending (8 hours) Near vision correctable at 13–16 inches to Jaeger 1–4 Far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other Depth perception Ability to distinguish basic colors Ability to distinguish shades of colors Hearing (aid permitted) Reference For more information on this qualification standard, please visit #J-18808-Ljbffr
