Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator - Chesterfield
At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator to work with Columbia Marking Tools Inc. in Chesterfield. This role is essential for building precision engraving machines in a professional, air-conditioned shop environment.
Shift Patterns
6:00AM - 4:30PM Monday through Friday
Occasional overtime required on Saturdays
Pay Rates
23.00 - 29.00 USD hourly
Must-have Requirements for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator
Proven manual lathe experience in a tool-room or engine lathe setting
Must own personal tools for mechanical assembly and machining
Proficiency in precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Strong ability to read and interpret machining blueprints and tolerances
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining fundamentals
Reliable attendance record with the ability to work overtime as needed
Desirable Requirements for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator
Experience in tooling setup and preparation
Basic machine maintenance skills for lathes and shop equipment
Expertise in cutting internal and external threads
Advanced measurement skills for tight tolerance parts
Strong problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting machining issues
Role for Manual Tool Room Lathe Operator
Set up and operate manual engine lathes for short-run production of 1-6 pieces
Machine precision round parts ranging from 1/4 inch to 6 inches in diameter
Work primarily with alloys and tool steels to meet strict specifications
Select, adjust, and maintain cutting tools to ensure optimal performance
Maintain high standards of accuracy, cleanliness, and safety in the shop
