Responsibilities Support general accounting in the month-end close cycle; prepare journal entries to ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded. Prepare and maintain inventory, construction-in-progress, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure balances are valid and accurate. Assist with preparing pro-forma budget to actual cost variance analysis for projects to ensure costs are valid, accurately allocated, and align with budget. Evaluate invoices to determine whether the costs can be capitalized align with generally accepted accounting principles. Review procedures and recommend scalable solutions to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of department transactions and projects. Support Regional Finance Directors; research and respond to inquiries and prepare journal entries. Identify and analyze discrepancies to determine root cause and corrective solution. Analyze and interpret historical trends: monthly accruals for lab, supply, property tax and utility expenditures. Perform expense analysis, identify accounting methodology and propose an efficient approach. Conceptualize and prepare financial reports and other reports. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, 5+ years of professional experience. 2+ years of professional experience Preferred Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise resource planning applications. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of and ability to apply accounting principles, theory, and practice. Knowledge and understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising work quality. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem resolution, proactive, ambitious, customer experience focused. Ability to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited information. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members of the business community. Self-motivated, reliable individual capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Problem solving skills to research, gather and analyze data; identify and resolve problems timely resulting in valid conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action. Analytical skills to synthesize complex or diverse information. Actively share ideas in a constructive and positive manner; ability to listen to and objectively consider ideas and suggestions from others.
