Role of the Position

The UNLV School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology, is seeking a Fellowship trained Pediatric Otolaryngologist at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level. We are an academic Otolaryngology practice with a residency program and 8 full-time faculty, with a busy Pediatric Otolaryngology practice. Responsibilities include care of advanced Pediatric Otolaryngology diseases, teaching (of residents and medical students), and clinical research. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing department serving a tristate area.

Profile of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine

The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV has been Transforming Healthcare in Southern Nevada since 2017. Our mission is to serve our patients, students, medical professionals, and community as a transformational force for improving healthcare in Nevada.

Our faculty, students, residents, and fellows have had their research published in top-tier peer-reviewed journals. With a group practice, UNLV Health provides care to more than 10,000 patients per month in its 17 primary care and specialty care clinics, and its partner hospitals.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a MD or DO from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and must have completed residency from an ACGME accredited program prior to starting employment.

Must be Board eligible/certified in Otolaryngology. If board eligible, must obtain board certification within two years of employment. Completion of an Accredited Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance. They must also meet credentialing requirements and be able to obtain privileges at affiliated hospitals and other site locations as needed.

The candidate's educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate's recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure consideration may be given upon hire on a case by case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and SOM Dean's recommendation.
