Join our Office of Inspector General This student intern role offers an opportunity to support the Office of the Inspector General by gaining hands-on experience in auditing, investigations, policy review, and performance evaluation within a government oversight setting. Interns will apply key competencies such as the ability to analyze information for reliability and validity, strong problem-solving and communication skills, creativity in developing solutions, and the capacity to evaluate rules, policies, and procedures for their impact. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is also essential for success in this role. Starting Compensation $14.00 Hourly Essential Functions Assist the Inspector General with auditing activities, including evaluating information for reliability and validity. Support investigative work by gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data to identify issues or inconsistencies. Participate in policy review by assessing rules, policies, and procedures for impact and effectiveness. Contribute to performance evaluations within a government oversight environment. Apply strong problem-solving and communication skills to develop creative and practical solutions. Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to support documentation, analysis, and reporting tasks. Working Conditions Employee works in a standard office environment. Occasional travel usually during the workday is required. Performs continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Occasionally lifts and carries objects up to 20 pounds. Occasionally requires bending and reaching above shoulder level. Possible travel to other offices. Required Credentials For Office Of Inspector General Student Intern High School Diploma (or equivalent) Be at least part-time and currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for undergraduate students or minimum GPA of 3.0 for graduate students Valid driver's license Preferred Credentials For Office Of Inspector General Student Intern Preferred Degrees: Accounting Preferred Degree Level: Undergraduate or Graduate Application Process The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. Applicants who are within 30 days of graduation, if selected are not allowed to start until all minimum qualifications are met. Additional Details This position is typically scheduled to work no more than 25 hours per week, between Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, out of the Brooksville or Tampa, FL office. Schedule is contingent upon the decision of the hiring manager and the successful candidate. Travel Required Yes. Some travel, using District vehicle, within District's coverage area.
