Senior Community Benefit Specialist

The Senior Community Benefit Specialist leads Health First's efforts in implementing and evaluating community outreach programs based on identified unmet health needs of the community, working in conjunction with the federally mandated Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), conducted per federal guidelines. The Senior Community Benefit Specialist promotes wellness and health in Health First's service area in a positive and community-oriented way. The Senior Community Benefit Specialist develops, manages, and strengthens relationships with community partners to support program implementation, ensure accountability, and uphold Health First's commitment to transparency within the community. The Senior Community Benefit Specialist applies critical thinking and data interpretation to analyze community health data, identify trends, and develop summaries, recommendations, and strategic insights that align programs and initiatives with CHNA priority areas and inform decision-making and program direction, in partnership with community organizations. The Senior Community Benefit Specialist effectively communicates the impact of this work to stakeholders through clear and meaningful storytelling.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plans, maintains, tracks and reports community benefit activities in accordance with strategic goals and Health First's policy for the filing of IRS Form 990, Schedule H; compiles and enters community benefit data into the Community Benefit Inventory for Social Accountability (CBISA) database.
• Serves as subject matter expert on community benefit planning and reporting in collaboration with the Corporate Finance Department regarding compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
• Supports the Community Health Improvement Committee and Wellness Grant application, review, and implementation process.
• Serve as a resource to community partners, owning and cultivating relationships with grant recipients, providing guidance and accountability to support program implementation and ongoing engagement; maintains program data and outcome reporting, ensuring alignment with CHNA priority areas through assessment of partner performance, identification of trends, and development of improvement recommendations for grant recipients, if applicable, while identifying opportunities to enhance program effectiveness and processes.
• Assists in the development, planning, execution, and analysis of the CHNA to meet regulatory requirements, organizational goals, and objectives, including analysis of findings, identification of key trends, integration of community input and qualitative perspectives, and summarization of key insights.
• Monitors and analyzes social determinants of health data and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop initiatives that promote health equity, including synthesizing findings and informing program direction.
• Develops summaries, reports, presentations, and communications that clearly convey the impact of community benefit initiatives, including partner outcomes and strategic recommendations for internal and external stakeholders, using data and storytelling to demonstrate meaningful progress toward CHNA implementation strategies and organizational goals.
• Processes agreements, invoices, and follow-up for community benefit-related Health First partnerships and programs.
• Represents Health First at meetings and events that support Health First's mission and community benefit objectives; coordinates event logistics as needed.

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Work Experience: Experience in healthcare, community benefit, public health, or related field, particularly in roles involving data analysis, program evaluation, or community-based initiatives.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Advanced project management skills.
• Public speaking, or facilitation skills.

Physical Requirements:

Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. Long periods of computer time or at workstation. Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined. May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
