Senior Accountant

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team in Burlington, MA. This is an excellent temp-to-hire opportunity for a highly analytical accounting professional with strong financial reporting, cost accounting, and government contract accounting experience. The role reports directly to the Controller and will support a variety of accounting and financial functions across the organization. Key Responsibilities Manage financial data and reporting for contracts, including tracking project costs, labor, travel, and other direct expenses. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting. Create and manage purchase requests and purchase orders for vendors and subcontractors. Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices. Monitor timesheets, labor allocations, travel expenses, and contract-related costs. Prepare and review invoices while supporting full-cycle Accounts Receivable functions. Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to support business decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with financial and contractual requirements. Assist Controller with Month End Close Assist with business insurance, stock program, SAMS renewals, GSA Mods processing Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required 5-10+ years of accounting and finance experience, including cost accounting and financial analysis. Government contracting and/or DOD contract accounting experience required Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Unanet or other DCAA-compliant accounting systems is a plus. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality. Must be able to successfully pass a background check and credit check. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
