Join our team as a Child Life Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in enhancing the healthcare experience by addressing the psychosocial and developmental needs of patients. This position requires a dynamic professional with a suite of therapeutic skills to deliver personalized interventions that foster resilience and positive coping. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments of patients and their families to understand their developmental, emotional, social, and environmental contexts. Provide a diverse range of developmental and psychosocial interventions to help families cope with the stress of illness, hospitalization, and loss. Create a safe and therapeutic environment that supports positive coping and emotional well‑being during medical encounters. Facilitate engaging group activities that promote socialization and positive interactions among patients and families. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, integrating goals into treatment plans and ensuring seamless communication and documentation. Advocate for the psychosocial needs of pediatric patients through education and in‑service training for staff and community members. Mentor and train child life interns, students, and volunteers, ensuring high standards of care and interaction with patients and families. Prioritize and organize workload effectively to ensure timely interventions for patients at the highest psychosocial risk. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred. Certification as a Child Life Specialist required within one year of hire. Comprehensive knowledge of child development and the ability to tailor interventions to meet individual needs. Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Salary Range: Minimum $22.68/hour - Maximum $36.29/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
