SOUS CHEF

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 Morrison Living is a hospitality-focused community with over a century of dining experiences. We deliver exceptional service at a senior living community. Job Summary Working as the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department. You will assist in supervising, preparing, and cooking various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. You may supervise hourly associates and work with the Executive Chef to develop new menus and assist with ordering. Key Responsibilities Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account. Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus. Produce and execute catering events. Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and the culinary team. Preferred Qualifications A.S. or equivalent experience. Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience. Catering experience. High-volume, complex foodservice operations experience. Institutional and batch cooking experience. Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet. Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs. ServSafe certification (highly desirable).
