Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Clerk Full Time Itasca, IL, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1051 Commercial Lighting distribution company in Itasca is looking for a full-time Shipping & Receiving/Inventory Control Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate has good attention to detail, enjoys working in a small team and is self-motivated. This position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. It is also responsible for keeping track of and managing everyday orders, signing off on shipments while counting current product inventory. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives goods and verify the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks; checks against suppliers' count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers and supervisors. Participates in inventory process and daily counts; researches and resolves inventory discrepancies. Accurately controls and tracks physical inventory Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments. Carefully and accurately maintain shipping records for requested categories, including goods returned, dunnage, and returnable pallets. Maintains a database of shipment data to ensure that customer orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments as required. Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions. Prepare bills of lading and dray tickets for shipments. Transports materials on the shipping dock with a hand truck or other vehicle as needed. Loads trucks using a forklift. Performs other related duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Internet Software Spreadsheet Software (Excel) Inventory Software Order Processing Systems Electronic Mail Software (Outlook) Other skills required : Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received. Must be able to lift packages up to 50 lbs. Understanding of dock, and warehouse procedures. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
